About

Transcend Healthcare started with the vision that the experience of healthcare can and should be better. Rather than feeling like a number, people should be treated as the individuals they are. In our model, people are clients, not patients. We partner with you to evaluate your health and/or concerns, provide up-to-date and innovative information and options, and tailor your care plan to work best for you. Every client is different so the approach to their healthcare should be individualized and different as well. No one size fits all here. We work to break silos in healthcare to care for the whole person through multi-specialty analysis of concerns and collaboration with other professionals to provide comprehensive care. Gone are the days of seeing a multitude of specialists who don’t communicate with each other and you being left with a flurry of information but with no clear plan about your health. Gone are the days of being dismissed and ignored in your concerns or questions. Gone are the days of being told what to do rather than partnering with your healthcare provider to make a realistic plan that feels right for you.

The approach to our practice is boutique and rooted in respect of our clients. Our appointments start within 10 minutes of their scheduled start time. We offer telehealth appointments to ease access to care. We often have appointments available within one to three weeks. Appointments are 3 to 4 times longer than in conventional offices so you have the time and space to work with your provider to optimize your care. In usual practices new client appointments are 15 to 30 minutes, ours are 60 to 75 minutes (or longer if you need it). In usual practices, follow up visits are usually 5 to 20 minutes, ours are 15 to 60 minutes (or longer if you need it). With the additional time, we are able take a true trauma informed approach, evaluate your health and concerns from multiple perspectives, provide education, answer your questions, and provide you a comprehensive care plan. We always strive to improve and know we are on the right path to provide the healthcare that people deserve. Experience the difference.

Dr. Jenna Benyounes

DNP, CNM, WHNP, NCMP

Jenna (she/her) graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2009 with a Bachelors in Nursing and moved to DC to attend graduate school at Georgetown University. After graduating, she worked in a privately owned and then large academic practice and saw a need for more support for clients and healthcare providers, especially in the realm of sexual health. She sought speciality training to learn to care for clients with painful penetration, pelvic pain, low libido, orgasm concerns, recurrent vaginits, perimenopausal and menopausal concerns. While starting to see results in the medical treatment plan, she noticed many clients had mental and social constructs that had been built around their healthcare experience or diagnosis. She wanted to treat these concerns from a biopsychosocial approach and completed a postmasters training to offer her clients sex counseling. She is passionate about clinical education and had been teaching at Georgetown since 2011. Her passion for education brought her back to Georgetown to complete her doctorate degree in 2018 with a focus on studying sexual health. You’ll find her lecturing or presenting at conferences about improving clinical care, writing textbook chapters, and speaking on podcasts. Beyond her work at Transcend Healthcare, she works for Quilted Healthcare, Georgetown University, teaching and proctoring IUD placements for Bayer, and at a local hospital as a midwife hospitalist birthing babies. In her free time, she enjoys decorating, remodeling, the beach, cooking, trying new restaurants and all DC has to offer, hosting parties, traveling, and naps.
